Limiting the acoustic performance of a space using fixed building structural designs or materials is not a practical approach.
Through the use of advanced technologies such as active acoustic control and spatial audio systems, engineers can build more immersive and balanced sound environments. The smart audio systems can control individual speakers and analyze the acoustics of the room to improve sound localization, reduce ambient noise, and provide a consistent listening experience in theaters so as to reduce the different sound qualities caused by different seats in the traditional theater.
The future of acoustic design for human ear sound perception will probably be towards real-time acoustic optimization with smart acoustic devices instead of installing bulky acoustic materials or structures to optimize the acoustic environment. Such innovations could enable venues to adapt automatically to different performances, audience sizes, and environmental conditions.
